Software Testing world Cup 2014
The sport world has it´s highlight this year with the football world championship. And the testing world? They get the "Software Testing World Cup 2014" An event that spans over six continents (obviously there are no testers in the arctic :-) to seek for the best team of tester (up to four testers can build a team). Organized by a Berlin based consulting company i got an invitation these days to join. On friday the 13th in June this year the event will be held. In a short time frame of 3 hours the team has to find as many bugs as possible in a testobject. In that time frame the team has to not only to find as many bugs as possible but also define a test strategy and/or a quality goal, file the found bugs and create "bug reports and a functional test project report". Sound good? Interested in more? (20/03/2014)
Definition of quality: Requests of customers issues
Some days ago a owner of a web based tax service asked me how to improve the quality of their software. They need some metrics to compare to. Of cause there are the known factors like number of (open) bugs, performance of the server, security vulnerability, time to a new release, and, and, and. So we talked a while and came up about the question: "What about customer satisfaction?" Could the number of requests of customer with any kind of issues be an indicator? We didn´t solved the question but it´s still in mind worth to think more about this and maybe make a concept of it. (21/01/2014)
Process model: SCRUM
Since some time i read about SCRUM as the standard used in agile developing. There is more and more a brisk demand. Go to main source to get the basics and what happens in the user crowd. (09/04/2014)
